What services do you provide?
I provide individual therapy to adults 18+ and adolescents aged 14-17.
How much do you charge?
I charge $275 for a new client (initial intake) 90-minute session, and $165 for a regular 50-minute session. All fees are due on the date of service. Please note that you must notify me at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to keep your appointment. Otherwise, you will be responsible for the full cost of the missed session.
Please note: I am "out of network" with all insurance plans. If you have verified that your plan has out of network mental health coverage and you would like to utilize your insurance to cover some of the cost of our services, I can provide you with a superbill for services that you can submit for reimbursement. Please know that even if your insurance company offers out of network benefits, they may still deny your reimbursement claim. I am not liable for any charges you have already incurred.
What is online therapy and how does it work?
Online therapy (tele-health) allows you to access therapy from anywhere in Georgia that you have access to an internet connection, a device that will allow for video, and privacy. You can be at home or in the office, on vacation, in your parked car, or sitting on a park bench. Telehealth allows you much more flexibility to work therapy into your busy schedule, and eliminates the need to deal with the hassle of a commute and traffic. Once we have confirmed a day and time for your appointment, you will receive an email with instructions and a link to your online session.
Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
Definitely! Research shows that tele-health can be as effective as in-person sessions. Therapists report that there are fewer missed sessions since clients no longer have to factor commute time into their busy day. Clients appreciate that they can more easily incorporate therapy into their daily routines without additional stress.
What are your hours?
I work by appointment only, and generally have availability Monday-Thursday as well as on the occasional Friday. I offer both daytime hours and evening hours. Once we have decided that I am a good fit, I will send you an invitation to the online scheduling system so that you can schedule sessions at your convenience from the privacy of your own home.
Why don’t you accept insurance?
Insurance companies require a mental health disorder diagnosis, which is not always appropriate or beneficial for the client. As well, insurance companies require information about qualifying symptoms and specific work in counseling, which can limit the type of work undertaken as well as the number of sessions you can receive.
